Corinth Pipeworks, in collaboration with Survey Digital Photovoltaics and Sirec Energy, proudly announces the electrification of the largest industrial rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system in Greece, a landmark project setting new standards in the sustainable development of industry.
The 7.1 MW system was installed at the company’s state-of-the-art plant in the Thisvi Industrial Area

and consists of 12,000 solar panels, utilizing advanced Behind-the-Meter technology to directly power the production facilities.
The project was entirely designed and implemented by Survey Digital Photovoltaics and financed through an innovative ESCO scheme by Sirec Energy and Survey Digital Photovoltaics in collaboration with Piraeus Bank. Under the terms of the 10-year lease, the system will be transferred at no cost to Corinth Pipeworks, ensuring long-term benefits both for the company and for the environment.
Key features of the project:
- Annual renewable energy generation of 10,000 MWh, covering approximately 25% of the plant’s electricity needs.
- Direct consumption model with no injection into the high-voltage grid, ensuring full utilization of the generated energy while considering the energy consumption profile of the production process.
- Installation across two factory rooftops, covering nearly 60,000 m² at a height of 10 meters.
- Reduction of CO₂ emissions by approximately 4,000 tons annually.
This initiative strengthens the company’s carbon reduction strategy, exceeding its 2025 target of sourcing 80% of its energy consumption from renewables through the combination of this system and its renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) from a wind farm, while also highlighting the power of partnerships in advancing Greece’s energy transition.
“This project highlights our commitment to sustainable development and the energy transition. Together with our partners, we are proud to have completed and commissioned the largest industrial rooftop photovoltaic system in Greece, a project that not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also creates long-term value for the company,” said Ilias Bekiros, General Manager of Corinth Pipeworks.
“I am proud that Survey Digital Photovoltaics undertook entirely the design, development, and implementation of the largest industrial rooftop photovoltaic system in Greece,” said Kostis Daniilidis, CEO of the company. “This project is not merely a technological installation; it is a living example of how industry can combine innovation with sustainable development. This collaboration demonstrates the strength of strategic partnerships in the energy transition. With projects like this, we enhance the competitiveness of Greek industry, reduce the environmental footprint, and create long-term value for future generations.”
“Sirec Energy invests in the green transition and is pioneering the innovative ESCO financing scheme through Esco Partners. We welcome Corinth Pipeworks’ strategic decision to entrust us with financing this project,” said Vangelis Bardis, Vice President of Sirec Energy. “This choice carries particular significance, as it comes from an organization with both the technical capacity to develop the photovoltaic system and manage the generated energy, as well as the financial capacity to finance the investment independently. Yet, it chose to move forward in collaboration with us and Survey Digital Photovoltaics, recognizing the value of strategic partnership.”
